I’m Marc, a former IB student now tutoring IB English A: Literature for international schools around Zurich. After my degree in Comparative Literature I started supporting students who are stuck between 4 and 6. We unpack difficult texts slowly, then move on to timed Paper 2 essays and individual oral practice. A lot of my work is helping students learn how to quote accurately and link back to the question.

I tutor A-Level English Literature online for students across the UK, mainly those aiming for grades A and A*. I studied English at university and later moved into one-to-one work because I enjoyed seeing the progress you get from regular, focused sessions. I particularly like teaching Shakespeare and modern drama, and I use past papers a lot so the exam format becomes second nature.

I help IGCSE English Literature students who feel they’re not “essay people”. I’m based in Basel but tutor entirely online. My background is in English and Theatre, so I enjoy working on drama texts and helping students use quotations in a more precise way. We spend time breaking down exam questions, planning under timed conditions and writing clear, thoughtful conclusions together.

I mostly work with Year 10 and 11 students who want steady, honest feedback on their essays. We look closely at exam questions, pull apart model answers and then build up students’ own responses. I’m patient but quite practical, and I’ll always tell you exactly what the exam board is looking for in practice papers.

I’m an AP English Literature tutor living in Bern. I completed my degree in English Literature and History and started tutoring while studying abroad in the US, so I’m very familiar with the AP format. I enjoy helping students get more from difficult novels and plays, then turning that understanding into clear, focused essays. We spend plenty of time on thesis statements and coherent paragraphing.
